Issues with Two-Factor Authentication Code

If you ARE receiving the code:

If you receive the code to your phone but it doesn't work when you enter it, here are possible troubleshooting options:

  1. In most cases, this happens when you've selected to receive the code several times and start to enter the wrong code. Try again, this time only select to receive the code once.

    • NOTE: The timer you see is for how long until you can request a new code, NOT how long you have to enter the code in.

  2. Ensure you've typed the number exactly as it appears. If you typed it in wrong, you would need to request a new code and type in the new code you are sent.
  3. Try changing the method by which you are receiving the code. If you've tried the SMS code, try the voice call instead and vice versa.
  4. Try using a different browser.  We find using the Chrome browser usually works best.
  5. Try using a different device.  If you are currently using your smartphone, try using a computer and vice versa.

Go ahead and try again! If you are now receiving an error message when trying to complete the request again, that means that the link is expired. You can reach out to your closing agency directly and they will be able to send a new link.

Don't know who your closing agency is? Connect with our Support team via chat or email, and we will be happy to provide their contact information!

If you are NOT receiving the code:

If you are not receiving the Two Factor code to your phone, the most likely explanation for this is that your phone number listed is incorrect.

Due to security and privacy purposes, we at CertifID are not able to change any of your contact information.

If you believe your phone number is incorrect, please reach out to your title company directly and they can update the information.

Is the authentication code delayed, or coming late?

The two-factor authentication code can take up to a few minutes to receive, however the code is typically received within a few seconds. Allow a few minutes to receive the code before requesting a new code.

NOTE: The timer that appears after you request the authentication code is a timer for how long before you can request a new code. This timer DOES NOT indicate how much time you have to enter the code before it expires.
