How do I enter information for a Credit Union?

When using wire instructions for a Credit Union, it is possible that the Credit Union uses an intermediary bank in order to receive and process the wire transfer. This happens when your Credit Union does not accept wire transfers directly, and requires a receiving bank.

Not sure if your Credit Union requires an intermediary? Connect with your Credit Union directly to confirm if this is necessary.

If your Credit Union requires an intermediary bank, your instructions may look something similar to this:

Wire To (Receiving/Intermediary Bank):
Bank Name: Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.
Bank Address: 420 Montgomery St., San Francisco, CA 94104
Routing Number: 121000248

For Credit To (Beneficiary Bank):
Name: Generic Federal Credit Union
Routing Number : 321180379
Account Number: 4120285401 (This is GFCU’s master receiving account)

Final Credit To (Member):
Name: [Your Full Name]
Account Number: [Your account number]
Address: [Your mailing address]

Below is a walkthrough of how you would want to submit this information to CertifID:

  • Routing Number: [Receiving/Intermediary Bank Account Number]
  • Account Holder: [Credit Union Name]
  • Account Number: [Credit Union Account Number] (typically a master receiving account)
  • Confirm Account Number: [Confirm Credit Union Account Number]
  • Billing Address: [Address you have on file for your personal account with the Credit Union]

Once you have entered the Billing Address, you will see a selection that says "+Add final credit to." Once selected, additional fields will populate. Here you will provide the details for your personal account with the Credit Union.
